These cabinets were commissioned to hold pop culture figurines so using that as inspiration I designed them to reference the imagery of art deco superhero comics. The details on the doors are meant to look like city scapes and that carries into the black trim pieces. The hands and feet have a deco feel as well. The whole thing feels like a skyscraper that is lit up at night.

Walnut, Gold Ink. 34” T, 19” W, 19” D (leg splay distance)
Commissioned as a 50th wedding anniversary gift, the Newbold Chair is designed to be a comfortable, classic chair with a personal touch. Gold rings symbolically adorn the legs and spindles and the number of center spindles and gold dots represent children and grandchildren. A family legacy is captured in an object that can be passed down through generations. Aside from symbolism, this chair is meant to fit into any decor and be used every day.
The legs, stretchers, and spindles are left with the texture from hand tools, and the seat and back are sanded smooth. Chair details and wood are customizable.

Walnut, Antique glass. 40"W, 14"D, 34"T
This cabinet blends elements from traditional furniture with its moldings and edge profiles with the proportions and simplicity of modernism. The simplicity of this design belies the complexity of the construction. The glass, which came from a 1700s home in Massachusetts, was cut by hand and each pane placed in its own barred frame. Other construction techniques include housed tapered dovetails to connect the top and a Japanese-inspired miter and tenon combination to build the base.
